Soms is het leuk om ook eens wat anders te doen dan duiken, een avondje stappen met onze gasten in de marina is dan een goed alternatief. Hier wat foto's van de laatste tijd.

Sinds 2 dagen hebben we er weer 2 wrak specialty duikers bij, John en Marga hebben bij mij hun cursus gedaan en deze uitmuntend afgerond. Sindsdien heb ik een prachtige nieuwe tekening van het wrak "Belina" wat een van mijn favoriete wrakken dicht bij Hurghada is. Hier een aantal foto's gemaakt tjdens de cursus.

Voodoo divers was een van de eerste van de nu 56 duikcentra in Hurghada die voldoen aan de ISO standaard EN 14467/ISO 24803 voor duiken zoals overeengekomen met Egypte's CDWS (Chamber of Diving en Watersports), the Austrian Institute of Norms en the European Underwater Federation. Dit betekent dat ons team in Hurghada een audit heeft gehad door de Chamber of Diving en Watersports en zich bewezen heeft als een veilig en professioneel duikcentrum. Voor onze vaste klanten zal dit geen verassing zijn, bij Voodoo heeft veiligheid altijd voorop gestaan.

Finally the website is almost finished. The photo album is still under construction, but will be ready in a few days. I am sure you will enjoy it. It has pictures of the Red Sea from the private collection of guests, me, Luxor and Cairo. Every time you open the main page there will be a different picture. If you experience any problems with the website don't hesitate to contact me.

Whale Shark Awareness RED SEA aims to capture data and raise awareness in the Red Sea in collaboration with Ecocean and Project Aware. VOODOO DIVERS is supporting the project; buy the Project Aware Whale Shark T shirts in the Dive shop! Proceeds go towards awareness, global research and conservation!
The ECOCEAN Photo Identification Library has formally identified three new whale sharks since November 2006. This brings the count to seven in the Red Sea. ECOCEAN is a global data collection programme that uses a special computerized technique to identify the spots on the skin of the Whale Shark similar to how NASA maps the stars in the galaxies. The total number of recorded Whale Shark encounters is just 3250, with only 827* identified worldwide.

Whale sharks have been sighted in the last few weeks, north around the area of Shabruur Umm Gamar, at Fanous and as far South as Shaab Rumi in Sudan. Several Whale Sharks have also been seen imbetween, in the areas around Marsa Alam and Fury Shoal.
