15-feb-2008 Finally the website is almost finished.
The photo album is still under construction, but will be ready in a few days.
I am sure you will enjoy it. It has pictures of the Red Sea from the private collection of guests, me, Luxor and Cairo.
But it's really a lot of work.
Every time you open the main page there will be a different picture.
If you experience any problems with the website don't hesitate to contact me.

The provider of voodoodivers.com in Italy has some problems with certain PHP scripts (running old version), that's why we are on our testsite (voodoodivers.net).
Just visit voodoodivers.com, you will automatically be redirected.
When the provider solved his problems I will put everything back there.

VOODOO DIVERS supports the Whale Shark Red Sea Awareness Project!

Whale Shark Awareness RED SEA aims to capture data and raise awareness in the Red Sea in collaboration with Ecocean and Project Aware. VOODOO DIVERS is supporting the project; buy the Project Aware Whale Shark T shirts in the Dive shop! Proceeds go towards awareness, global research and conservation!

 

The ECOCEAN Photo Identification Library has formally identified three new whale sharks since November 2006. This brings the count to seven in the Red Sea.

ECOCEAN is a global data collection programme that uses a special computerized technique to identify the spots on the skin of the Whale Shark similar to how NASA “maps” the stars in the galaxies. The total number of recorded Whale Shark encounters is just 3250, with only 827* identified worldwide.

Whale Shark sightings in the Red Sea are on the increase!

Whale sharks have been sighted in the last few weeks, north around the area of Shabruur Umm Gamar, at Fanous and as far South as Shaab Rumi in Sudan. Several Whale Sharks have also been seen imbetween, in the areas around Marsa Alam and Fury Shoal.

  • The Whale Shark, Rhincodon typus dates back to the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods 245 -65 million years ago.
  • Whale Sharks are fish and therefore obtain oxygen via their gills.
  • Whale Sharks are regarded as highly migratory
  • Whale Sharks have internal fertilization and produce live young. Pups are born at fraction of their adult size – being only approximately 55cm in length at birth, and reaching sexual maturity it is thought after 30 years.

As you probably noticed the instructors Ramon and Sascha are not working with us anymore.
I didn't want to bring the story up, but there are some things happening which we don't appreciate.
Email and SMS messages have been sent by them to our customers suggesting that our diving center is not ok anymore.
Then the following question is rising in my mind: who are diving with the guests? Indeed these 2 instructors themselves!
They left because they broke the safety regulations in Diving!
Diving with a customer to 70 meters on normal air, planning deco dives and diving to 44 meter with 32% Nitrox is really dangerous.
Other example: Doing a course in the evening with a customer in your house so he doesn't have to pay in the diving center! This is stealing money from us.

This are just a few examples from the list of their behavior and why they left.
Of course they will deny everything, but we have the witnesses!
The safety of our customers is number 1.
The other instructors don't want to loose their credibillity for this behaviour.

Duikvrienden,

Voodoo divers gaat verhuizen.
We zitten op dit moment in het Reemyvera Hotel en zijn daar niet tevreden.
Continue problemen met het hotel. Tevens was ons toegezegd, dat de Sunrise groep het hotel over zou nemen, echter dit heeft geen doorgang gevonden.
Terwijl we uitzagen naar Europeesche klanten kregen we de Russen.
We weten inmiddels wel hoe die zich gedragen.
Verder waren er veel klachten over het eten, geen warm water, personeel enz.......

Onze nieuwe locatie is in het centrum van Hurghada (Sekalla) in Bella Vista Resort. Een keurig hotel met schone kamers, goed eten, fijn personeel en goed management. We kunnen u ook kamers aanbieden.
Het hotel had ons al 4x gevraagd om het DC daar te nemen.
Op dit moment zijn ze voor ons aan het bouwen in Nubische stijl.
Het DC ligt 15 meter van het strand met een wrak voor de deur.
De boot op 25 meter van het DC, al onze wensen worden door het management vervuld. Nieuwe compressorroom voor onze 2 compressors met nitrox en andere mixjes en 200 tanks, nieuw klaslokaal van 6x3 meter, dryroom, 4x3 meter.
In het DC, receptie, klaslokaal, office, equipmentroom, keukentje en toilet.
Voor het DC is alles gebouwd in Caribean Style.
Tevens hebben we weer een huisrif.
Ook zal voor de gasten de transfertijd minder worden.
Over een paar dagen hoop ik onze website een update te geven, zodat jullie de nieuwe locatie kunnen bewonderen. Moet even wachten tot ze klaar zijn met bouwen.

Over 2 weken (rond 15 juli) hopen we over te zijn, maar in elk geval voor het einde van de maand.
Na de verhuizing zullen we ook gaan beginnen met technisch duiken.

Dear Guests,

 

Voodoo Divers is going to change location.

We are not satisfied with the Reemyvera Hotel, so we decided 3 days ago to sign a contract with an other hotel.

They promished us European guests in the Reemyvera, but it turned out to be Russians.

Also the hotel is not ok. Lots of complaints about rooms, bad food and employees.

Our new location is in the centre of Hurghada.

Bella Vista Resort is a wll known hotel with nice rooms, good food and nice employees.

This hotel asked us already 4 times to take the DC over there.

At this moment they are building the things we asked for.

Everything will be build in Nubian style and is finished in a few days.

New compressorroom fot both our compressors and the 200 tanks.

New classroom 6x3 meters and dryroom 4x3 meters etc.

Also the DC has a classroom, reception, equipmentroom, kitchen and toilet.

In front of the DC everything is in Caribean style.

Again we have a housereef. It’s 10 meter to the beach and 25 meter to the harbor where our boat is waiting for you.

In a few days I hope to launch an update for our website to give you an impression.

As soon as the building is ready we start moving.

After the move, we will also start with Technical Diving.

11-Dec-2004 Soon we have information about a new Safari boat called Cairo II.

This boat is new, 2 engines and 8 cabins complete with shower and toilet.

Information will be available soon.

15-Nov-2004 Today a movie company made some recordings with us.

Arround the 15th of December the movie will be shown at the Dutch Airport (Schiphol).

On the screen you can see Eric and Cor.

13-Nov-2004 The website has been renewed and we hope you like it. We tested it, but there can always be something we missed. If you have any problems please give us some feedback. Some parts are still under construction and will be changed during the next few weeks.
